Blankets of Honor is a Veteran Owned Non-Profit Organization in Pennsylvania, that was established in February of 2021. Blankets of Honor is classified as a 501c(3) with the Internal Revenue Service.
When CEO Manny Acuna retired from his service, he was given a “Quilt of Valor”. He always remembered that and realized how it made him feel. In 2019, Manny was with the Marietta Legion Riders, Chapter 466 as the Chaplain when, he and fellow officers had an idea.
They formed a committee within the Riders group called “Blankets of Honor”, where they would honor Veterans, Gold Star Families, First Responders and Supporters with blankets. In January of 2020, they began with a Vietnam Navy Veteran.
BOH’s goal was and is, to be a hands-on organization, to send groups from the organization for in-person presentations to the nominee. Fast Forward to March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which interrupted the ability to honor nominees for their service and sacrifice.
During the first year, 2020, even with the pandemic, Blankets of Honor handed out nearly 40 blankets to deserving Veterans, Gold Star Families, Supporters, and First Responders.
Blankets of Honor’s goal is to show Veterans, that the words “You are not Forgotten” are not just words!
Blankets of Honor is a non-profit organization that relies on donations from the community and merchandise sales to be able to continue its mission. All members work on a volunteer basis. Kim is a caregiver by day and has been instrumental in Blanket of Honor’s success by being the CFO, and wearing other hats within the organization.

Dave served in the U.S. Army. Last rank was E5. He is excited to be returning to Blankets of Honor. He supports his fellow veterans as much as possible.

Denise Dugan

Denise served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1998. She was a Chief Radioman (RMC). Denise is active is several organizations which honor Veterans.

Kevin is a Son of a Veteran. Kevin actively supports Veterans with the Legion Riders and other organizations. He authored a children’s book about fighting cancer.
